Year 1999: When I was Primary 2, the only few electronic games i played were gameboy, tamagotchi, playstation and computer games if i don't rmb wrongly. And those were shared among siblings.

Year 2011: The current Primary 2s, were talking about how they own an iPad(how many times the price of gameboys and those) and that they want to buy iPad2 (I seriously didnt know that iPad2 was alr out) and smth about galaxy tab(I just googled it, and it's smth similar to the ipad).
And I was reading to them this social studies chapter on types of housing in Singapore. And came across the part where they talked about terraced houses and condominiums. Then some of them started showing off about how they stay in the condominiums, terraced houses and bungalows.

Wow seriously, i'm slogging my ass off, trying to earn some money to buy an iPhone myself (without my parents/siblings helping me pay), and there these kids are just getting those gadgets just by saying "mummy daddy i want ipad" (like some genie granting them wishes). When I was young, even saying "mama papa i want this toy", i would already be given a dead stare from them. Which is not totally bad. At that point of time I may feel like i'm losing out to the other kids around me who have all the coolest toys. But because of that, I was always afraid of asking money from them. I'm paying everything myself now and saving my own money to buy my own things, which i feel proud about.

Parents spoon-feeding their kids now, i think you should think about 20 years down the road, what will your kids become. I'm QUITE sure (i may be wrong) that you will have to extend your retirement age?


Ok, i just sounded angsty. But seriously, i wouldn't want to raise my child into some materialistic pompous babies. Yeah, correct. Raise them up to become babies.


Anyway, I applied for NIE Diploma as well. If i can't get into the NIE degree prog then i'll just go for the Diploma. But according to my brother, I've wasted my two years in JC, plus my 1 gap year, plus my pay will be damn low next time):
And I was also thinking, what if in the future, i'm damn sick of teaching alr?! And I wanna work as smth else, but i don't have a proper degree :S
Then again, I like teaching, and don't like those mundane office jobs. I really really don't like office jobs.
AIYA Wait till the results are out then see la! Talk so much. Tsk. K back to sorting out my docs!
